Active Transportation and Trails Community Needs Survey

Survey Reporting Tool – Paginated Grid View

The Wyoming Pathways Active Transportation and Trails Community Needs Survey Reporting Tool Grid View displays the complete submission data from each respondent.  The search results in this view are paginated, with 5 entries showing per page.  If multiple projects were submitted by a single respondent, these are displayed as individual entries.  To save these entries you can print them by using the “Print Search Results” link.  If you would like the same data in a CSV format, please go to the Paginated Table View.

How to Search Survey Responses:  We have provided multiple search categories to search the survey (Project Type, Trail Project Type, Nearest Town or City to project, Zip Code of Project, House District of Project, Respondent Representing and Respondent Town or City).  You can search by individual or combinations of the search categories, but combining search terms will likely reduce the number of results returned.

If you find this tool useful, please consider making a donation to support our continued work to bring Active Transportation and Trail projects to Wyoming communities.

Project Jurisdiction: Natrona County

Casper Mountain Nordic Trails Center

Zip Code of Project: 82601

Project House District: H37-Natrona County

Project Character of Work:

Add new downhill specific MTB trails to the existing Eadsville Trail System on Casper Mountain. Create a Downhill hub that would be accessed by current XC trails as a starting point for multiple one way downhill specific trails including manmade features of varying difficulty (Green, blue, black runs). System would need to be signed and marked appropriately. Downhill trails would end and connect with existing XC trails, and would have a designated return route to Hub at the top

Project Cost Estimate: $25001-$50,000

Project Notes:

Call me if you want to discuss ideas. These exist in many other locations with more developed trail systems outside of Wyoming. Grand Junction CO, Fruita CO, Bentonville AR to name a few that we frequent. These are a big draw and attraction. Minimal opportunities exist for similar experience in WY (Lander has started with some recently), there is a desire for this in our state.

Casper, WY

Zip Code of Project: 82601, 82605, 82609, 82636, 82644

Project House District: H37-Natrona County

Project Character of Work:

Create a bike skills park with manmade features and obstacles of varying difficulty and complexity to provide a safe place for user of all ages to recreate and hone their bike skills. Pump Tracks, manmade drops, jump lines, balance beams, rock gardens, and other misc features to mimic obstacles encountered on natural trails, downhill bike parks, etc. Same concept as a skate park only for bikers, mountain bikers, and BMX. Make obstacles of varying difficulty for all ages and skill levels. Ideally coincide with an existing trail system or trailhead. Similar parks exist in Grand Junction CO, St George UT, Rodgers AK just to name a few I have been to.

Project Cost Estimate: $100,001-$250,000

Project Notes:

Previous efforts in Casper have been stymied due to liability concerns. But these exist at other cities all over the country, there has to be a solution. Also, there is no more liability than at skate parks or ski areas, and these facilities exist in Casper.

Project Character of Work:

Create urban single track systems through portions of town (undeveloped drainage corridors, parallel existing hard surface pathwway cooridors, etc. These could parallel or connect existing pathway systems. Casper has an extensive Paved Pathway system which is great, but focuses on a narrow user demographic. Much larger group of users would prefer soft surface trails with manmade features (elevation changes, berms, jumps, etc). Kids (and the young at heart) especially want to ride this, not paved pathways.

Project Cost Estimate: $50,000-$100,000

Lander

Zip Code of Project: 82520

Project House District: H54-Fremont County

Project Character of Work:

Connect walking paths through town. Currently, pathways are separated which does not take advantage of the closest pathway opportunities in town.

Project Cost Estimate: $250,000-$500,000

Project Notes:

I have no idea how much this would cost.

Additional Thoughts:

Connecting bike routes across the state and building a rails-to-trails project (similar to the 100-mile Mickelson Trail) could be worthwhile projects. Next time add “do not know” to the Cost Estimate pulldown.
